The bakeries of the future: not just sales, but meeting point. Bakeries have always been a truly magical place, their captivating scent conquers everybody, the smell of the bread fresh from the oven is something essential on our tables and something simple but complex at the same time.
Costa Group started right from the ovens, and it is from these magical places that it learned how to make things, “growing up among flour”. Lately, bakery formats have been experiencing changes, and see the coexistence of multiple realities, in the same space.
“Sales counter, display cabinets, cafeteria corners, and tables have turned the bakery into real restaurants and meeting points, often for entire generations.
This is the case of Brescia’s award-winning “El Forner”, a reference point for all the people from Brescia, who for a long time has been looking for a store in the heart of beautiful Brescia: in Via San Faustino a bread boutique was soon born. Wood and iron take center stage, surrounded by a frame of exposed brickwork.
We wanted to respond to the customer’s need to create a store that all day long could give as many services as possible: breakfast with an Italian-style croissant and cappuccino, a “Forneria” for daily shopping, the deli department for a “take away” lunch at work or for family dinner, the pastry shop, and finally the aperitifs.
The counter is strategic and makes the most of the display space thanks to the large windows, and the shelves complete the richness of the gastronomic offerings. We also interviewed the Stores Director of “El Forner” Stefania Bornati, who says, “When we saw the interior of the store, we thought it was the right one and with Costa Group we could give it the right value.
