“I am proud of Delizie di Calabria, I am proud to tell that it all started from a cauldron, a “coddara,” our first “pasteurizer,” in our first small factory in Sersale.

We started from the neighborhoods, the villages, the Calabrian families. And out of that pot came the recipes of our tradition. Something that was missing in the market…

I wanted to create a company that told the story of Calabria. Today, I am proud to have created a production chain for Calabrian chilli pepper, to have managed acres and acres of land with trusted partners in Calabria, and to have exported our treats all over the world. Mangiarrìa is like another child coming into the world. I’ve been working on it for about 12 years. Covid had slowed me down a bit in its realization but I believed in it, I believe in it with all my soul. It is in the difficult times that the entrepreneur has to bring out his character, believing in it and reacting, always, with positivity.”

My motto? Sacrifice, hard work and determination.

It is from this cauldron that Delizie di Calabria was born, an authentic brand in a generous land. Mimmo Scalise’s purpose (and mission) is to bring good and spicy Calabrian food to the table of every connoisseur of hot food. From the first workshop and in his ability in the art of preserving food comes the project of enclosing in a jar the sunshine and the explosion of taste of the products of the earth, produced  by local sources.

Thus, was born Mangiarrìa, a space that encapsulates all the products and philosophy of the brand, where the product is enhanced and the customer is involved in an active experience. “At the apericena, the customer “cutting the salami,” says Domenico Scalise, can rediscover the pleasure of conviviality,” the traditions, in a dynamic and multifunctional venue.
