gran caffè urna dal 1885

Every café has to tell a story: most of the time Costa Group creates this story from scratch following the direction of the client, as in the case of the collaboration between Costa Group and Nuova Cavip for Caffè Urna.

The story of Caffè Urna has distant origins and Viagrandese roots as far back as 1885, and it tells of love and a lot of courage. In fact, the coffee was born at the behest of Lorenzo Urna when on his return after a long trip to France, he asked for and obtained in marriage his beloved Caterina, a young Viagrandese (province of Catania).

Lorenzo, that was a young cook at the service of Prince Manganelli, on the strength of his culinary experience and his new combinations, succeeded in attracting the best clientele of the time, confirming himself as the undisputed landmark of Viagrande ever since, opening a restaurant in 1928.

Sicilian, full of every sweet and savory culinary goodness, it retains its historic charm thanks to its ornate ceiling and contrasting modern combinations of materials, shapes and colors.

From the green that recalls pistachios to the shiny white marble, this realization puts the signature of two companies, which thanks to their synergy, have been able to enhance history and the “made in Italy.”

Antonio Zaccà, president and founder of new CAVIP talks about the furniture in this way: “Beautiful, innovative and artistic” adding:

“The synergy between us and Costa Group has been excellent, fundamental and decisive.”
